Dr. found something weird in my blood results so immediately I am on a low cholesterol diet.
In researching this, it’s boring. VERY BORING food. I’m trying to be good and eat right and since the results of not doing this looked bleak I’m going to post what I’m eating and the meds I’m taking.
So breakfast was
Mini Wheats with soy and 2 glasses of OJ.
I did have a Dr. Pepper but it was the last one in the box.
Lunch was Diet 7Up and Roast Beef and Ham wrap on wheat tortilla with provalone and dijon mustard.
I know lunch meat is bad M’kay but it’s all we had and Wheat Thins Toasted Chips - Veggie.
Dunno about dinner yet and we still have to go to Wills Point for Spencer’s soccer game at 4.
1 Pantoprazole
3 Chlord/Clidi
Omega 3 Fish Oil
1 Mucinex DM - (so far cause after mowing the front and back and cleaning up the landscaping I’m crushed today)
1 Alkaseltzer Cold - Usually helps when MuX DM doesn’t
Head is killing me but nothing for that.
So unless you care about my food and drugs, disregard and drive thru. (or just curious how much I’ve fucked up my body)

So after CAPE, I hit my regular store to get my pull list. I was really wanting to get a cpl trades too. I needed X-Factor Vol 2. by Peter David and in hardback please. I won’t bash them here but follow…

So I get there and a huge Magic tourney is going on. I browse the trades. I’m looking for just hardbacks and nothing else. They had recently moved locations and I thought maybe they didn’t stock up. I approach the counter as the “worker bees” are trading Magic cards and playing PSP.

I asked for my books after the Magic transactions have finished. Trader of Magic cards yells at PSPer, “DUDE, BOOKS FOR CLAY!” In the biggest Napoleon Dynamite voice I hear, “GOSH!” he puts his PSP down and thumbs thru the pull boxes and hands me a stack. Now a stack is odd cause I get a cpl of books. Half of them are there and half are not. I then ask Trader of Magic, where are all the hardbacks. With a stare so blank that could only be caused by eating lead paint or Season 3 of Flavor of Love, he manages to utter “Uh, I dunno.” I said “There are a cpl of them in this glass case, is that it?” Gandork the Tard says “Uh, whatever.” Is that even an answer?

So I head over to the racks to pull my own books.

Now back to the counter and Trader of Magic cards has begun to rock out. Previous to this trashing, he announces 10 minutes are left in the Magic tourney. Then he’s headbanging to some lame ass pop music. As I wait, PSP guy has started a new level and I stand with books that I want to buy and books that aren’t mine. Finally Maroon 5 or whatever shit that was playing stops and so does Trader of Magic. He looks up and laughs in only the way a grown version of Beavis or Butthead would. I hand him books that aren’t mine.

I say “These aren’t mine and might be someone elses.”

He yells at PSP guy. “DUDE!”

PSP guy yells “WHAT?!?”

Trader of Magic says “These aren’t his books and you need to ring him up!”

PSP guy closes up his PSP and says softly “damn”.

He then takes the books that aren’t mine and doesn’t file them but throws them on the boxes of comics that have been pulled. As he’s ringing me up, Magic Trader says “Hey, you see our free comics?” He points to a table as empty as his head. I look thru the books to find ZERO comics that are actually free. I question the Retarded Doug Henning about the lack of comics that are free. He says “Oh yea we lost a box in the move but they will be out eventually.”

At this point, someone gets up from the gaming tables and asked the Magic Trader how much time’s left. WRONG QUESTION SIR!!! You might have gotten a nicer response if you asked if his mother enjoyed anal.

“I SAID 10 MINUTES AWHILE AGO!!!!!”

Fanboy’s quickly retorts “WE CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER ALL THIS MUSIC!”

“WELL LISTEN UP DUDE.”

The fanboy face off was over and it was Trader of Magic 1 - Fanboy 0.

I interrupt this battle of wits.

“I need to cancel my subscription.”

“Dude, we keep books for like 3 months.”

“Nope I don’t think I’ll make it back”

“OK, write your name down.”

I really hate that too cause this place supported local animal shelters.

Quick Iron Man review - Good. For fanboys, it lacks Mandarin but was he ever a great villain in the past 30 years?
Great acting. Julian Wells takes on “The Dude” as Gwyneth Paltrow plays the Daphne. Rhodey is in it to tickle your ass with a feather that War Machine MIGHT get a sequel but no go in this.
Sit thru the credits.

So that began my comic book weekend.
Today I got up and went to Zeus for CAPE 2008. I got there just in time for a writing panel. In the past, Zeus took over the parking lot at their old location and all tables are free for writers, artist and whathaveyou. The panel thing is new but the crowd was larger than normal. They actually had to stop giving out comics and do it in shifts cause of the crowds. They also had multiple tents at Craddock Park about 2 blocks away. Open, spacious and would air out the fanboys that fear soap and/or deodorant. Saw friends I hadn’t seen in a long time. Picked up some mini comics. Got some books signed…

• Absolute Kingdom Come - Classic!
• The Walking Dead Omnibus - Kirkman says Omnibus 2 in Nov.!
• Marvel Zombies - Didn’t think I’d like this like I did.
• Wolverine: Origins Born In Blood - Sold on Way after this.
• 12 Reasons I Love Her - Best Indy book I’ve read in a long time. Art is amazing and the story isn’t some self loathing fanboy babbling on.

Nothing like discussing Star Wars and Zombie flicks with Robert Kirkman. Coolness.

Now props for the art. I have a Nightcrawler sketchbook I take to cons to get original work done. This time I got work from Will Rodriguez and Rob Guillory. Awesome work. I really recommend checking their sites for the art. Actually Rob started up a new book for me. I’ll be moving all my previous pages to this one. Scott Kurtz had been the first person to draw in my original book. Will is the last one now.

Oh and congrats to Kurtz for 10 years of PVP. Scott was doing Capt. Amazing at UNT when I was attending so his art actually reminds me of the great times I had at North Texas. He’s a great guy that I always see at the local cons and even Comicon and he always says hey and takes the time for a handshake.
